Unfold is an interactive VR installation that invites participants to explore the emotional language of traditional Thai dance through immersive technology. Rooted in the expressive gestures of classical Thai performance, the experience translates intricate movements - symbolizing emotions such as joy, sorrow, anger, and disgust - into dynamic shifts within a virtual world.

As participants perform or mimic specific Thai dance gestures, the VR environment responds in real time, transforming mood, colour, sound, and spatial design to reflect the underlying emotion of the movement. The result is a meditative and deeply personal experience where the boundaries between body, culture, and digital space are gently blurred.

Unfold reinterprets heritage through innovation, using motion-tracking and real-time interaction to honour the rich storytelling tradition of Thai dance while opening it up to new, embodied modes of expression. It encourages users not only to observe but also to physically engage, inviting them to "unfold" their emotions through movement and become co-creators of the evolving virtual landscape.
